Venetian Stiletto

On a trip to Venice, we were touring the Doge's Palace and admiring the weapons when a particularly beautiful stiletto caught our eye. Centuries old, its elegantly crafted contours and unique triangular blade were obviously shaped by a master; for the dagger shone with a positively happy wickedness. Stilettos come in many sizes, from delicate little hideout weapons to forthright long daggers suitable for use even as a main gouche, but this is certainly one of the more attractive ones we've come across. Blade face is beautifully hollowed. Grip is wood. Comes complete with sheath. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

MUSKETEER MAIN GAUCHE

Carried at the back for a left hand draw, the main guache was often brought into play with the rapier for a two handed fighting style. The blade has cut-outs and notches to slow or disrupt an opponent's blade, while the hand was well-protected by the knuckle bow. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts® See # 500784 for matching Rapier.

15th Century Cinquedea

Named for its five finger blade - width, the Cinquedea was one of the most radical designs to emerge out of the Italian Renaissance. It was the contemporary of the Anelace or "ox tongue" dagger and was most likely developed first, both being proceeded by the Coustile. the Cinquedea blade varied grearly in length being anywhere from 10" to 28" long. This beautiful example of the sword hilted type has highly polished decorative brass pommel and guard with a real bone grip. The well-tempered high carbon steel blade, with its three deep fullers, is long enough to defend against a sword and comes to a keen tip for thrusting. It was often carried in place of a dagger or full size sword, worn at an angle at the small of the back. Scabbard included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

All Steel Stiletto

Light, easy to carry and often worn like jewelry by both men and women. Stilettos were used throughout the European Renaissance, and were common at the feast table. The triangular shaped blade is deeply fullered on all three sides and comes to a very keen point. The grip and pommel are turned in steel as is the typical short guard. Black leather scabbard with steel parts included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. #401620

16th Century Italian Battle Axe

Early in its active life span, the battle axe was a simple chopping/crushing weapon. Although a few might have decorated blades, by far most were simple effective tools of war. But by the 16th century the axe became a highly decorated weapon. People realized that the shape could be made quite attractive without effecting the efficiency of the weapon. The birthplace of the Renaissance - Italy - saw the development of some really beautiful battle axes. This axe has a strong hardened steel blade with cutouts. The back spike is gracefully curved but has the proper angle to deliver the maximum force when the spike is used. A short steel spike does allow the axe to be used in a short, surprising thrust. Butt cap is steel. The shaft is hardwood, studded with brass tacks. Overall length is 28", a great length for one handed use. An impressive sidearm that combines both beauty and efficiency. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. #600596...$120 #500958 $285 Overall 44" Blade 36" long, 1" wide, 1/4" thick Wt.-2 lbs. 6 oz. Circa 1625
