Musketeer Rapier

The musket, though the prime weapon of the French Musketeer, was a cumbersome firearm, both to load and fire, so a good rapier was a necessary second weapon. The basket of this rapier's hilt is ambidextrous and a very effective mix of both the cup-hilt and swept-hilt style. The grip is wood wrapped with twisted wire and the parts of the hilt are plated with gleaming nickel silver. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts® #500784 Please check #401348 for matching Main Gauche

Cup Hilt Rapier

One of the most elegant of all swords. The rapier's endless variation of wire baskets and cup guards also offered good hand protection, the cup-hilt being the best of these. With two fingers over the guard the hand tucked down into the cup for excellent cover. The thin, long blade - offset by the mass of the entire hilt made for lightning-like point speed and control. Our offering has nickel plate on the pommel, guard and cup to give it a rich luster, while the grip is hand carved bone. A very attractive piece. Scabbard is included. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. #500874...$235 Overall-46 1/2" * Blade-37" long, 3/4" x 3/16" wide * Wt.-2 lbs. 8 oz.

Three Ringed Rapier

With its graceful, artistic lines, the rapier has always been a romantic symbol of the Renaissance. The reality is that the rapier is a very deadly hand-to-hand combat weapon, perfectly suited for the swift moves of the duelists of the day. Many hilt forms were tried early on like this three ringed swept hilt. The grip is bone, with a wire wrapping, making for a very secure grip. This is a light, fast and deadly sword with a classical design. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes scabbard. #500862...$215

Italian Falchion

The falchion was a weapon used in battle more than most people realize. Considered a heavy, single edged weapon designed for heavy chopping, it has an ancient history that stretches back to the Bronze Age. During the Renaissance its form became a little more elaborate, but its functionality remained the same. This was a heavy battle sword designed to oppose the combinations of plate and mail that were popular. The blade could shear mail with ease, and dent or crush lighter weight plate. We have copied a sword in the Florence Museum dating from about the first quarter of the 16th century. The blade is high carbon steel. The guard and the pommel are steel, while the grip is polished hardwood. The scabbard mounts are also steel. A beautiful and impressive sword. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

Italian Bastard Sword

This beautiful and effective sword has a black blade with a deep luster, fluted black pommel and black guard and grip. This is a perfect example of a true bastard sword; the blade is the length of a one handed sword while the grip is elongated so that a second hand can be brought into play for two hand blows and the overall size allows for easy one-hand use. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Includes leather scabbard. #500890.$265 ($5 add. s/h) Overall-41½" Blade-34" long, 1 11/16" wide, 3/16" thick Wt-2½ lbs

The Sword Of St. Michael

In the Florence Museum, there is a painting by Palliaolo of St. Michael slaying the dragon. St. Michael is using a falchion of a style that was quite popular in the late 15th and early 16th century. However, this sword has a slight variation which we felt made it even more interesting. It appears to be double edged! Although not unknown, this was quite unusual for a falchion blade. The blade is very strong and sturdy, able to cut with great authority, but is also light and fast. The double edge also lessened the weight and made possible a back handed drawcut, that could be quite effective. Blade is high carbon steel. This is a very attractive sword with a touch of exotica about it and also a quite effective weapon, should you be a knight or man-at-arms. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®. Scabbard included. #500838$185 Overall-33 1/2" * Blade-27" long, 1 3/4" wide, 3/16" * Wt-2 lbs. 8 oz.
