Description
Our first design in the Indian wedding swords collection is inspired by the family swords that have been passed over generations in the area – in and around the land of five rivers. The base of the sword handle depicts a lion face in all its glory. The two corners of the hilt are also carved to show two similar albeit smaller lion faces. Along with the beautifully pattern neck lines on the handle and the metal chain bringing the two lion heads together – this design signifies the true glory of the king of jungle who is brave, courageous, fearless and protective of his family.
This magnificent sword is accompanied by a scabbard that is about 32 inches in length and weighs about 325 grams. The scabbard is made in the top quality wood and then fitted with the finest quality velvet in red blue or green colours. The scabbard is ornamentally decorated with the top, bottom and middle pieces (kothi, mohra) that are designed on the floral leaves pattern. Belt buckles are also provided on the scabbard to wear the sword along with any traditional sword belt.
All the sword parts including the complete handle and hilt (with chain) and the ornamental pieces on the scabbard are made in brass and then covered with a thick coating of finest sparkling silver or a 24K plating of harvest gold.
About 95% of the blade length is beautifully etched with an intricate design which along with the fuller (groove) running across the blade further enhances the beauty of this sword. The blade can also be made in Damascus steel.
