Italian Buckler
The practiced use of sword and buckler was wide spread throughout Europe by this period with both rapier and cut and thrust swords being carried and used on an everyday occurrence, especially by rival Italian families. This stout fist shield features a raised ring designed to capture an adversary’s blade, opening them up to a counter attack, with a large center post to aid in this maneuver. Very nice details with an antiqued “iron” finish. A great companion to many of our swords and rapiers.
