Description

King Sancho IV was nicknamed the Brave and had a beautiful sword to show it. This ceremonial sword was from 1284 when he reigned over Castille, Leon, and Galicia in Spain. The original is on display in the Tapestries and Textiles Museum at the Cathedral Primada in Toledo, Spain. Made by the smiths at Windlass, it features a 1065 high carbon steel blade with 49-52 RC. Full tang and temper to withstand the blows of battle. Shallow fuller runs the length of the blade for strength. Cast embellishments on the solid brass pommel and guard have been given an antiqued finish. The grip is wood with multiple coats of arms cloisonne hand carved and painted. Comes with a beautiful brown leather scabbard with brass parts and a heavy cotton weave belt. Accents are in gold thread. A stunning piece of Spanish royal history.
