Sword of Tancred

Prince Tancred (known in French as Tancrède de Hauteville) was a Norman lord of Southern Italy, who was among the first noblemen to join the Crusades in 1096. He saw considerable victories on this bloody campaign, and after the fall of Jerusalem he acquired the title Prince of Galilee. Our exquisite Sword of Tancred has been researched from this legendary knight’s adventures.

The pommel has a representation of the red Nurit flower of Galilee on the one side, while the opposite is adorned with the crusader cross, which Tancred adopted during the Crusades. The hard wooden handle has been covered with soft, deep brown stitched leather, accented with antique brass details. The imposing 2″ wide blade has a deep fuller running the length, giving great balance to this mighty sword. Included is a period stitched scabbard in matching brown suede with long leather belt. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Can be sharpened for additional fee.
