WWII U.S. Army Officer’s Crush Cap Khaki
Relive the glory days of the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII with this high-quality reproduction “50 Mission” Officer’s Crush Cap; so named because officers removed the wire cap stiffener to accommodate wearing head-phones while on missions. The wearer of a worn crush cap was considered an experienced combat flyer and had been on at least 50 combat missions. The crush caps became popular with ground army officers too, including general officers. This khaki cap is made from cotton twill with leather visor, chin strap and sweatband with gold colored army crest. Also available in dark green. Choose size: 7-1⁄4″, 7-1/2″ or 7-3⁄4″.
